FLORIDA HIGH-RISE PROJECT CONTINUES WITH REWARD WALL SYSTEMS
March 2001, Omaha, NE – Usually when Florida and Nebraska get together, the result is a great football game. But when Ostego Bay Construction, Inc. of Florida teams up with Omaha-based Reward Wall Systems, Inc. later this spring, the result will be a great building project—one of the tallest buildings ever built with insulating concrete form (ICF) walls.
Waterside IV will be the fourth high-rise condominium building in an eight-building, multimillion dollar development at Waterside at Bay Beach, Florida.
With more than 20 years in the commercial construction business, Robert Ambrose, Vice President of Ostego Bay Construction, has focused primarily on building condominiums using concrete block for the walls. In fact, the first two of the 11-story, 112,000 square foot buildings in the Waterside project were built with concrete block, but a shortage of masons in southwest Florida caused him to turn to ICF wall construction. Ambrose has high expectations for the construction and energy efficiency of this project, and says he is extremely optimistic that the Reward project will easily meet those expectations.
"The professionalism and knowledge of Reward as a company is overwhelming," he said, "and I feel they are key ingredients needed for Waterside IV and future projects. I’m very impressed with Reward’s people and products, and I feel that these two things, along with Reward’s remarkable support services will be a great fit for us."
Ed Storm, President of Reward Wall Systems, Inc. agrees. "Obviously this is a significant project for us as a company. The success of this project will justify using ICF for these types of projects, and show once and for all that ICF can be used economically and cost-effectively."
Construction begins on the Waterside IV building in early March with wall construction beginning in late May.
Located in Omaha, Nebraska, and with more than 12 years’ ICF experience, Reward Wall Systems, Inc. is the only major national distributor of two complete and diversified lines of insulating concrete forms used in residential and commercial structures. Reward’s customers include general contractors, residential contractors, concrete contractors and construction supply distributors.
