Reward Wall Systems Offers Nine Technical Briefs on Moisture Issues in ICFs
Research performed by Construction Technology Laboratories
Reward Wall Systems now offers a series of nine Technical Briefs on moisture issues in insulating concrete form (ICF) construction. The Technical Briefs are based on research performed by Construction Technology Laboratories, Inc. (CTL) and written by that firm's principal engineer and group manager, Martha G. VanGeem, P.E., LEED-AP. Reward is the first ICF company in North America to offer research of this kind to the construction industry.
Covering a wide variety of topics, the Technical Briefs provide background information on moisture issues in every stage of ICF construction, something the industry badly needs, according to Reward President Ed Storm. "For years, contractors have traded anecdotal information about moisture issues affecting ICF construction, but we have had no solid basis for understanding the complexities each builder faces," says Storm. "These comprehensive reports, founded on research performed by one of the most reliable laboratories in the country, are invaluable tools for the entire industry."
The nine Technical Briefs are: Reward iForm Wall as an Air Barrier System; Reward iForm Wall as a Vapor Retarder; Condensation; How Moisture Affects EPS Insulation; Moisture in Concrete; Effects of Rain and Snow on Reward iForm During Construction; Avoiding Moisture Problems at Penetrations, Windows, and Doors; Infiltration of Moist Air; and Preventing Moisture Problems in Below Grade Walls. The reports are available here.
Located in Omaha, Nebraska, Reward Wall Systems, Inc. was the first national manufacturer of two complete and diversified lines of insulating concrete forms used in residential and commercial structures. Reward's customers include general contractors, residential contractors, concrete contractors and construction supply distributors
